RCD & SMOKE ALARM COMPLIANCE

RCD’s are the single most effective measure to prevent electrocutions, serious electrical injuries and fires within your home. Not only that, but they are now considered law when selling or renting your property/s. It is mandatory for owners and landlords to install a minimum of two safety switches to each residential property. Installing and testing RCD’s and smoke alarms is a safety measure that will protect your loved ones, your possessions and your property for relatively little cost. It will also serve to protect absent landlords in terms of financial loss and liability, in addition to protecting tenants or occupants. Fines can apply for noncompliance, of up to $100,000.

As with RCD’s, it is mandatory for owners and landlords to install hardwired smoke alarms to ensure their residential property complies with Local Government (miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1960 Section 248 and the Local Government Act 1995 Section 9.60 and the building amendments regulations 2009

This applies to selling too, but aside from being law they are an excellent way to ensure safety and early warning if a fire should start up in your home.

We can hard wire in smoke alarms, so there is no need for replacing batteries or having to worry if it is in working order. Where smoke alarms can’t be hard wired, we will fit a 10 year battery operated one, according to Australian Standards.

Early warning could make all the difference.
